Red foxtail millet seed, rich in carbohydrates (58%) and low in fat (4%), is much loved by seed-eating birds who enjoy breaking the kernels off the cob, as they would in the wild.
The red variety is particularly appreciated by Red-cheeked cordon-bleu (Uraeginthus bengalus), Painted finch (Emblema pictum) and waxbills in general.
